Whisky is a man's best friend

It may not surprise you that I am a huge whisky fan. For me its the perfect revered drink to sip on at a party or to round out a night on the ales as a night cap. So when I was asked to try some Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Single Malt whisky and right a blog about it of course I was very excited.

If you are unfamiliar with whisky its traditionally a man's drink to be savered so that the full flavour can be enjoyed. It has a high alcohol content so some people mix it with something or water it down with ice. The purists out there will say that diluting whisky is a crime but I say have it how you like it best and for me with ice is my preferred way of consuming this classic gentleman's drink.

The Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Single Malt whisky which I enjoyed is quite simply delicious. The taste is an individual one with flavours including pear and citrus lemon, vanilla and light biscuit sweetness. The finish is medium length with gentle wood smoke and a lingering peaty tang.

Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia are long standing internationally acclaimed whisky brands from the once world renowned home of whisky, Scotland. They have travelled the long distance across vast seas and have launched in Australia for the first time.
